The client in this project is one of Kazakhstan’s largest Edutech startup offering MOOCs, which has experienced exponential growth since the pandemic began. Although the client grew its presence significantly in Kazakhstan, they did not have the expertise to penetrate overseas markets.
Sauwat recognized Southeast Asia as the next step for the client’s expansion. To provide insights that help the client understand Southeast Asian markets better and formulate their market entry strategy, Sauwat carried out in depth primary and secondary research.
During the engagement, Sauwat also focused on understanding the client well from all facets in order to provide the most tailored support. A key learning point for this project is that it is important to keep communications with the client company’s decision maker open and frequent, especially for cross-border projects.
Throughout the project, Sauwat produced market research reports into 6 markets in Southeast Asia for the client, including our recommendations for market entry. Markets include Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, and Vietnam.
The client incorporated our findings into their pitch to investors, where our research enabled them to quantify their growth potential which helped support their fund raising process for future overseas expansion plans.
